5) Feelings and what I do – To understand how feelings affect my behaviour
6) Co-operating with others – To be able to co-operate with those around me and to know that people have different views

Year 3 – Spring Term - Week by Week
1) Working together – To be able to co-operate
2) Does tobacco advertising tempt us to buy? – To know that advertising affects a person’s decision
3) Making choices about smoking – To understand that people make their own choices in life and that there are health risks with smoking
4) What people think about smoking – To know people view smoking differently
5) Improving our playtime – To know that we have responsibilities at playtime
6) Making myself and others happy – To know that we influence the feelings of others

Year 3 – Summer Term - Week by Week
1) Why do people quarrel? – To know that sometimes people quarrel
2) How can I make friends? – To understand that friends are special people
3) Why a friendship can finish – To know how to continue in a friendly relationship
4) About bullying – To understand why people bully and to know when and how to ask for help
5) Keeping safe – To be aware that there are dangers around us
6) Review – To understand the year’s work and think about the coming year

Year 4 – Autumn Term - Week by Week
1) Our special class rules – To know our special class rules
2) About talking circles – To understand the need to listen and respect the thoughts and feelings of others
3) Helping and caring about others – To understand that there are times when we all need help
4) Trust and distrust – To understand about trust and to know that there are certain people they cannot trust
5) Leading others – To understand when to lead and to know when they are being led into a dangerous situation
6) Asserting myself – To be able to let others know how they feel, when appropriate

Year 4 – Spring Term - Week by Week
1) Alcohol – To understand the damaging effects of alcohol
2) Shall I say “No”? – To know how to make decisions about alcohol
3) Addiction – To understand that some people become addicted to alcohol
4) Future choices – To know how to make informed choices
5) Making decisions for myself – To understand the importance of making decisions for myself
6) Communication – To know how to communicate effectively

Year 4 – Summer Term - Week by Week
1) Learning to share – To understand the importance and impact on others when we share
2) Building friendships – To know who will make a good friend
3) Keeping friends – To understand the importance of maintaining good friendships
4) Changing friends, changing relationships – To understand that friends and relationships can change
5) Special places – To know that our environment affects how we feel
6) Review – To understand the year’s work and think about the coming year

Year 5 – Autumn Term - Week by Week
1) Our class rules – To understand the need for class rules
2) Achieving targets – To know that we all need to set ourselves achievable targets
3) New challenges – To understand that life presents diverse new challenges to us all
4) Contributing to your future – To know that adults rely on learned skills to fulfil their work
5) Debate and presentation – To be able to present a rational and cohesive argument
6) Duties and responsibilities – To understand that duties and responsibilities vary in different situations

Year 5 – Spring Term - Week by Week
1&2) Democracy – To know that we live in a democratic society
3) Democracy - To understand how a democracy works
4) Drugs – To be able to make safe and well-considered decisions
5) Using a visitor for drug education – Could be a community police officer
6) Community involvement – To understand the need for, and role of, pressure groups

Year 5 – Summer Term - Week by Week
1) Differences and similarities between people – To understand that in our society there is cultural, ethnic and religious diversity
2) Differences and similarities between people –  To understand people’s differences in relation to gender and disability
3) Religious and ethnic diversity in the UK – To know that the UK is a multi-ethnic/religious community
4) Scarce resources – To understand that resources are finite
5) Health and the transmission of disease – To know that disease and viruses can be transmitted
6) Review - To understand the year’s work and think about the coming year

Year 6 – Autumn Term - Week by Week
1) Our class rules – To understand the need for a set of rules to which we all agree
2 & 3) Racism – To know that racism exists in our society and to understand the effects of it
4) Law in our society – To understand why we have laws and to know the difference between right and wrong in terms of the law
5) Homes around the world – To know that people around the world live in different circumstances
6) Achieving targets – To know that we all need to set ourselves achievable targets

Year 6 – Spring Term - Week by Week
1) Goals – To be able to set personal and global goals and to understand their benefits
2) People who take illegal drugs – To understand that how a person may look will not always be a good indicator of character
3) About the media and advertising – To be discriminating in response to advertising and to make your own choices
4) Drugs – To know that some drugs are illegal and dangerous and it is an offence to buy, sell or retain these drugs
5) Building confidence – To be able to build their confidence
6) Leader of the gang – To understand that we can all lead others

Year 6 – Summer Term - Week by Week
1) People around me – To understand the impact of family and friends on my life
2) My moods and me – To understand the effect of my moods on others and myself
3) Beginning to grow up – To understand that I am growing up and to know that my skills and feelings are developing and changing
4) Looking forward to our new school – To know what to expect at secondary school
5) What we want from our future – To understand that we all have hopes and aspirations for the future
6) Final review and reflection – To understand that life is changing and to be able to use effectively the skills we have developed
